Northwest born and raised, singer/songwriter
Joni Packard’s first CD takes you to the magic and beauty
of mountains and places wild, and touches too, on the gifts
of family and friends, love, and the simple things in life.
Whether you’re 9 or 90, or somewhere in between, her
songs will both comfort and inspire. Written in a gentle folk
style, Joni was inspired at an early age by the Kingston Trio,
Peter, Paul and Mary, and the early music of John Denver. Musicals
have long been a favorite of Joni’s; writing songs that
people can sing to, whether gathered about a family piano,
or under the stars at night, has always been a special magic
and joy.
Joni started writing songs when she was 12
years old. Growing up mainly in Seattle, she spent as much time
as she could at a family cabin nestled in the foothills of the
Cascade Mountains. Summer jobs as a trail crew boss helped nurture
her passion for wild places. Eventually Alaska called her name,
where she lived and worked for 8 years.
